Caleb Barlow is the director of Application, Data and Mobile Security in the newly formed IBM Security division. In his last role he was the director of Unified Communications and Collaboration where he was responsible for the voice, video, web conferencing, instant messaging and social business communications under the IBM Sametime brand. Caleb has spent most of his career focused on designing and building businesses around alternative software delivery models that are simple, fast and inexpensive to consume. First joining IBM in 1992, Caleb was part of Integrated Systems Solutions Corporation, a Rochester, NY IBM subsidiary that later became IBM Global Services. At ISSC, Caleb was responsible for building the global groupware outsourcing practice for hosted Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange. In later roles he managed the software development organization responsible for Lotus Active Insight. Caleb also spent a year as the Executive Assistant to Alistair Rennie, General Manager Lotus Software. Prior to joining the Lotus team Caleb was the Director of Technology Services at Syncra Systems (acquired by Retek, later Oracle) where he managed the hosting business unit and support team which provided supply chain services to retail/CPG customers such as P&G, Kimberly Clark, Target and Hitachi. He was also part of the initial team of 5 that started Ascendant Technology, a highly successful IBM business partner.
